Moving Forward Together: Highlights from ADRA Annual Council 2026

ADRA Indonesia had the opportunity ti participate in the ADRA Annual Council 2026, held in Chiang Mai, Thailand. The four-day gathering brought together leaders, innovators, and representatives from across the global ADRA network to strengthen collaboration, share insight, and explore new strategies for humanitarian and development work.

The council served as an important platform for learning and networking, as participants discussed how ADRA can continue to expand its impact and respond effectively to the evolving needs of communities around the world.

Four Days of Learning and Collaboration

The event was structured around key themes each day, highlighting the priorities and future direction of the ADRA network.

Day 1: Faith, Vision, and Inspiration
The first day focused on reaffirming ADRA’s mission and values as a faith-based humanitarian organization. Through inspirational sessions, participants reflected on the role of faith, compassion, and service in guiding ADRA’s work worldwide.

Day 2: Partnerships and Cutting-Edge Collaboration
On the second day, discussions centered on the importance of partnerships and collaborative approaches in addressing global challenges. Participants explored new ways to strengthen cooperation within the ADRA network as well as with external partners.

Day 3: Technology, Big Data, and Smart Systems
Technology and innovation became the focus on the third day. Various sessions highlighted how digital tools, big data, and smart systems can improve efficiency and effectiveness in humanitarian programs.

A highlight of the day was the Tech Innovations Showcase, where innovative solutions were presented to support the work of ADRA worldwide. During this session, a representative from the network had the opportunity to serve as one of the panel speakers and present the ADRA Comms Kit app, a digital tool designed to strengthen communication across the ADRA network. The presentation received positive responses from participants, many of whom expressed interest in the application and its potential benefits.

Day 4: Re-Imagining the Network
The final day invited participants to reflect on the future of the ADRA network. Discussions focused on innovation, adaptability, and strengthening connections among ADRA offices globally to better serve communities in need.

Breakout Sessions and Knowledge Sharing

In addition to the main sessions, the council featured eight breakout sessions held on Day 2 and Day 3. These sessions covered a variety of important topics, including Climate Financing, Anticipatory Action, AI Agents (Beyond ChatGPT), and Fundraising strategies.

These discussions provided valuable insights and practical knowledge that can support future program development and communication initiatives across the ADRA network.

Following the event, presentation materials from the sessions are being compiled and will be shared with colleagues to ensure that the knowledge gained from the council can benefit the broader team.

Strengthening the ADRA Network

Participation in the ADRA Annual Council 2026 provided a valuable opportunity for ADRA Indonesia to connect with colleagues from around the world, exchange ideas, and learn about new innovations in humanitarian work.

The insights gained from the council will contribute to strengthening ADRA Indonesia’s efforts in delivering impactful programs and continuing its mission of serving humanity so all may live as God intended.
