North Sumatra — The ADRA Indonesia team is currently on the ground conducting a Rapid Needs Assessment and coordinating with BNPB, BPBD, local authorities, and other NGOs to identify the immediate needs of the affected communities.
Access to the impacted areas remains extremely limited. The main road from Silangit Airport to Sibolga is cut off due to multiple landslides. The national routes Sibolga–Tarutung and Sibolga–Padang Sidempuan have also been reported as completely severed, leaving several areas isolated and making the distribution of aid increasingly difficult.

ADRA Distributes 50 Family Packs to Vulnerable Residents in Adiankoting
In addition to conducting assessments, ADRA Indonesia, together with ADRA volunteers from GMAHK Smraja, Siborongborong, Tarutung, and Sibalang, provided initial support by distributing 50 Family Packs containing hygiene items and food supplies to 50 households in Sibalang Jae Hamlet, Adiankoting Subdistrict. This area recorded 21 fatalities due to the landslide, making it one of the hardest-hit locations.
The distribution was carried out to support the GMAHK Sibalang response post, and in collaboration with the HKBP post and other community-led stations. ADRA’s presence aims to assist community volunteers to ensure that aid reaches the most affected families.
ADRA Indonesia also provided Psychosocial First Aid (PFA) to families experiencing psychological distress following the disaster. In addition, the team offered basic health services such as blood pressure, blood glucose, cholesterol, and uric acid checks, especially for residents who were unable to access health facilities due to the road closures.
These activities are part of ADRA’s ongoing commitment to strengthening humanitarian response in the affected areas
