A strong adaptation strategy is needed to reduce these risks and help communities become<br>more resilient.<br>To address this issue, the Government of Indonesia developed the National Action Plan for Climate<br>Change Adaptation (RAN-API) in 2013. This plan aims to include climate adaptation strategies in the<br>National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN).<br>At the local level, this policy is implemented through the Regional Action Plan for Climate Change<br>Adaptation (RAD-API). This document serves as a decision-making tool for local governments and<br>helps integrate climate adaptation into the Regional Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPD) and the<br>Regional Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMD).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>Through the REAF II Project supproted by ADRA Canada and Canadian Foodgrains Bank, ADRA<br>Indonesia supported the Government of Sigi Regency in developing the Climate Change Adaptation<br>Document for 2025\u20132029. The process, conducted from April to August 2025 with multi-stakeholder<br>involvement such as Regional Development Planning, Research, and Innovation Agency (Bapperida),<br>Meteorology, Climatology, and Geophysics Agency (BMKG), Regional Disaster Management Agency<br>(BPBD), District Health Office (Dinkes), Tadulako University, ADRA, the Disaster Risk Reduction<br>Forum (PRB), and Gampiri resulted in a document that has been integrated into the RPJMD and<br>strategic plans down to the village level. Notably, BMKG recognized Sigi as the first district in Central<br>Sulawesi to establish such a document.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><br>The drafting process was undertaken through several stages, including regular meetings of the<br>drafting team; the first workshop, which aimed to collect information on vulnerabilities, disaster<br>risks, and the impacts of climate change; the second workshop, which focused on identifying and<br>prioritizing actions based on the results of the vulnerability analysis; and the third workshop, which<br>presented the outcomes and finalized the document.
