Soleman Dethan (69), is a farmer from Noelbaki village, Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara. Having received three doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, he embarked on a mission when the virus started spreading and the government urged everyone to get vaccinated. However, many people were hesitant due to the circulation of hoaxes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Soleman realized that the virus posed a greater threat to vulnerable groups. Determined to make a difference, he took it upon himself to learn about Covid-19. Once equipped with knowledge, he endeavored to motivate vulnerable individuals to get tested and vaccinated at the community health center.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He chose to lead by example and be vaccinated to demonstrate that the vaccine is safe for vulnerable groups. Soleman did various approaches to educate community. He used the platform of Radio Kupang to urge the community not to believe in hoaxes, but rather in the government and religious leaders. Additionally, during traditional gatherings, weddings, or funerals, he personally shared his knowledge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Soleman expressed his gratitude to ADRA for implementing the Pulih Bersama Program, which greatly enhanced the understanding of Covid-19 pandemic mitigation efforts in his village.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
