Being a channel of God’s love to be able to help others makes Rommy Bliss Wokas excited. He is the head of the family and also works as Occupational Public Health at an Oil and Gas Company in Balikpapan. Rommy wants to use every opportunity and time he has to be able to serve others in humanitarian service.
He joined ADRA Indonesia volunteers as an ADRA Ambassador in December 2020. He chose to become an ADRA Ambassador because he wanted to be more useful to many people with what God had entrusted to him through his time, energy, and other things.
Starting his ministry as an ADRA Ambassador, Rommy invited his friends at the Pathfinder Club and all members of the congregation in his church to attend ADRA’s Pathfinder Honor: Basic Disaster Response class. The class was held on Saturday, May 08, 2021. Building capacity in dealing with disasters, increasing the preparedness of self, family and congregation are the objectives of this class. He organized this activity with the Club and invited ADRA to teach. All participants felt blessed with the class they were taking and yearn to always be ready to be safe, and ready to be able to save others in case of an emergency.
“Every time, there is an opportunity to help, and it can be in many ways. Give what you can give, because the smallest help will be very valuable for those in need without we realize it,” said Rommy.
