Background

Yayasan ADRA Indonesia is a humanitarian organization and belongs to the worldwide ADRA network, comprising more than 120 supporting and implementing country offices. The mission of ADRA is to serve humanity thus all may live as God intended through Justice, Compassion and Love as its main values. ADRA Indonesia has been working in Indonesia since 1981 and registered as a local Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) in 1991.

The 12-month project of DRCh intends to work with sub-national government and church leaders in developing a contingency plan to be able to provide humanitarian assistance and Protection to internally displaced people (IDPs) if a humanitarian crisis occurs. Project deliverables are to setting up a Protection and Displacement (DP) Cluster that brings together relevant humanitarian actors, including NGOs and local authorities, to provide effective and coordinated emergency response to IDPs. The joint need assessment (JNA) protocol developed and disseminated. The JNA will gather critical information on humanitarian needs, guiding the government in declaring an emergency status and enabling a coordinated response. The outcome of this project is: Improved preparedness of local governments and civil society to respond to armed conflict and social unrest.

Functions of role

Under the overall supervision of the Program Director, the Project Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and implementation of the Project, including all substantive and administrative matters. Manage collaboration with key stakeholders, coordinate the human resources and ensure ADRA Indonesia policies are observed by the project personnel, volunteers, and partners and provide good quality project reports in a regular basis.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide direction and leadership in advocating for project objectives and ensuring that all relevant stakeholders are well-informed about project activities, outcomes, and goals.
  • Manage and coordinate project activities, including substantive, administrative, and strategic planning aspects, to achieve the desired outcomes.
  • Manage financial, human, and other project resources to maximize cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Liaise with civil society organizations, particularly churches, for collaboration and coordination.
  • Ensure the quality of outputs and outcomes through proper project documentation and an effective monitoring and reporting system.
  • Identify risks and take timely action to resolve them in coordination with key stakeholders at the district and provincial levels.
  • Prepare project progress reports (monthly, quarterly, and final) with timely and accurate information.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational rules, regulations, policies, strategies, and internal control mechanisms for all actions and activities.

Qualifications and Competencies Required

  • A bachelor or master degree in social science or other development-related field with a minimum 5 (five) years of relevant experience in project management
  • Experience working in humanitarian assistance to internally displaced People (IDPs) and good networking with human rights organizations will be an advantage.
  • Ability to establish and maintain good communication with church leaders, community leaders and local government
  • Displays a strong cultural, gender, religion, race, nationality and age sensitivity and adaptability.
  • Adaptable or capable to adjust approach and thinking to work effectively in a variety of situations and with different people.
  • Achieves objectives by taking an organizational perspective and working with and through others to achieve results and innovative thinking to solve problems.
  • Applicants who are based in Jayapura or Papua is an advantage.
