One of the national strategy made by ADRA Indonesia is to run a Cooperative Revitalization program which will bring up the promising ideology of cooperative movement as a national economic growth pillar. There are three approaches that are highly regarded as consensus among cooperative practitioners: regulation reform as a foundation, cooperative education which answer the current needs, and new impressions of modern cooperatives with good governance recognition.
An aged Dutch couple, Dirk and Hanneke Van Ouwerkerk who celebrates their 50th wedding anniversary and Sir Dirk’s 70th birthday, has shared their love and fundraised to support the growing teenage Tunas Wanita Abadi (TWA) born from ADRA’s initiative back in 1990’s. It is more than a great moment of celebrating its achievements to the welfare and wellbeing of its members, but to entrust the cooperative to a higher level of opportunity to develop its capacity in order to achieve the mission and vision.
This is also hopefully becoming a reflection of an unwavering continuous support from both the parent body, ADRA Indonesia, and the unifying entity of Tunas Wanita Abadi to uplift the dignity of women’s role in sustaining family’s welfare in West Cengkareng, West Jakarta.
As the TWA’s officers are committed to use this perpetual fund as a capital for running the loan program, the 37 members who are the first batch prioritized to receive this fund as a revolving loan are joyfully motivated.
